This painting is named after the famous student uprising that started on June 16th, 1976 in Soweto, South Africa. That day became known as “The Day Our Kids Lost Faith” by the parents and teachers of the school kids many of whom were injured and some killed that day by the bullets fired into the crowd by white officers. This is a fictional day, the day before.
